We went to see the walled garden at Sausmarez Park – they just dig the beds and dump the vraic straight on top. Ours is in the compost heap for now though – haven’t actually prepared any beds yet!
Incidentally there are laws about where you can collect vraic (i.e. only from your parish), but I don’t think the constables are particularly busy enforcing them at the moment…
